About me

I am an engineering student currently studying at UMBC looking to go into manufacturing. I have always been compelled to make things. When I first got into climbing I saw how expensive the gear was and immediately thought "I can do that better for cheaper". After spending well over a magnitude over the original price of a hangboard I finally had a rough prototype.

I hated to see such a big price tag next to products that are made from cheap materials. I started BARK with the idea that I can make hangboards out of beautiful high-end hardwoods AND still have competitive pricing.

Working with wood has always felt natural to me. I’m drawn to the quiet rhythm of the process—from selecting each piece of timber to carving, sanding, and finishing by hand. There’s something grounding about using raw materials that have their own story and turning them into something new for someone else to enjoy.

Most of the wood I use is locally sourced or reclaimed, and I try to make sure nothing goes to waste. Whether it’s a small accessory or a centerpiece for your home, my goal is to make items that feel personal, useful, and a little bit special. This work is my way of connecting with people, sharing something made with care, and honoring the materials that come from our land.
